LATINO PROGRAM

The Latino Program is designed to meet the needs of those students who have been exposed to oral Spanish at home but have little or no background in formal grammatical aspects of the language. Classes may be individual or in groups depending on the number of enrolled students who requiere this type of course. This program follows a 27 lesson sequence, and it is designed to emphasize pronunciation, spelling and the correct use of grammar.

PROGRAM FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS

Since Cuauhnáhuac receives many advanced students, including Spanish teachers and professors from high schools, colleges and universities, we have created this program to accommodate them. The advanced program follows the same schedule of the Normal Intensive Program, but covers some complicated grammatical points and the advanced lectures are designed to detect the weak points of the student. The linguistic workshops include writing and wording in acceptable literary form, phonetics and pronunciation, and precise and diversified vocabulary. The advanced student can also take mini-courses in Latin American literature, Latin-American studies and Mexican History. Due to the flexibility of Cuauhnáhuac´s scheduling, many students are able to personalize their courses by introducing textbooks from their own universities into the syllabus.

CUSTOMIZED SEMESTER PROGRAM

This program is designed for those students who would need customized classes in order to meet the university requirements. This program consists of 12 or 16 weeks of intensive language courses, the length of which varies between Universities. This program is scheduled from February to May and September to December.

An explanation of the course requirements should be sent to us at least one month in advance in order to arrange the classes.

The core of the program is grammar application studies, which occur during a part of each day, this will enable the student to maintain a sufficient language level for their tailored classes.

Beyond that, the program can be tailored around the student's individual needs. Here is an example of some possible classes:

Mexican Literature and History, Contemporary Mexico (current political and economical situation in Mexico), Culture, Linguistics (semantics, dichotomies between language and speech, language forms and wording, syntax, vocabulary, speech analysis, phonetics, writing, analysis of student errors, etc.), and Latin-American Studies (social studies, politics and economy in Latin American countries and their influence worldwide), Business, Law, Education, Humanities, Religion, Medicine.

Because of the student's customized classes and class schedule, there will be a 30% fee added to the Normal Intensive Language Program 4 week tuition fee. The second consecutive full month of study entitles you to a 10% discount off the Customized Intensive Semester Program tuition. The third and successive months entitle you to a 15% discount off the Customized Intensive Semester Program tuition.
